HolyLine

Terms of Use

Version 1.0 · Effective Date: April 25, 2026

Welcome to HolyLine. By creating an account, purchasing session credits, or using the HolyLine service, you agree to these Terms of Use in full. If you do not agree, do not use HolyLine.

1. What HolyLine Is

HolyLine is an AI-powered spiritual reflection and guidance application. The voices and personas you encounter are entirely artificial intelligence — they are not real clergy, priests, ministers, pastors, chaplains, spiritual directors, or members of any religious order.

HolyLine is not a church, diocese, religious institution, or faith community. HolyLine is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Roman Catholic Church, any Catholic organization, or any other religious institution or denomination.

HolyLine is not intended to replace participation in any religious practice, including sacramental confession where applicable.

2. What HolyLine Is Not

  • Not sacramental confession. The “Confession” mode on HolyLine is a reflective, AI-guided conversation. It is not the Sacrament of Reconciliation as defined by the Catholic Church or any other religious tradition. No absolution is given. No sin is forgiven in the sacramental sense. No clergy/penitent relationship is created.
  • Not professional advice. Nothing in HolyLine constitutes legal, medical, financial, psychiatric, psychological, therapeutic, or professional advice of any kind.
  • Not a substitute for real clergy. HolyLine does not replace real priests, pastors, counselors, therapists, or any licensed professional.
  • Not for emergencies or crises. HolyLine is not a crisis service. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, suicidal thoughts, or any life-threatening situation, contact emergency services (911 in the US) or a crisis line such as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline immediately. HolyLine cannot help in emergencies.

3. No Professional or Privileged Relationship

Use of HolyLine does not create any attorney/client, clergy/penitent, therapist/patient, doctor/patient, financial advisor/client, or any other professional, confidential, or privileged relationship between you and HolyLine or any person associated with HolyLine. Conversations on HolyLine are not protected by clergy-penitent privilege or any other evidentiary privilege.

4. Session Credits and Purchases

HolyLine operates on a prepaid credit model. You purchase session credits in advance. Credits are consumed when a qualifying session interaction occurs.

All purchases are final. HolyLine does not offer refunds.

By completing a purchase, you acknowledge and agree:

  • You have read and accepted these Terms.
  • Session credits are a digital product consumed upon use.
  • Unused credits have no cash value and are not transferable.
  • Credits expire or may be modified at HolyLine's discretion. HolyLine will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes to credit terms.
  • Purchases are processed by Stripe. By purchasing, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

5. Refund Policy and Chargeback Prohibition

All sales of session credits are final and non-refundable. HolyLine does not offer refunds for any reason, including unused credits, sessions you ended voluntarily, or dissatisfaction with the service.

You agree not to initiate a chargeback, payment reversal, or dispute with your bank, credit card issuer, or Stripe for any authorized HolyLine purchase. Filing a chargeback for an authorized purchase is a material breach of these Terms. In the event of any such dispute, HolyLine reserves the right to immediately suspend or permanently terminate your account and forfeit any remaining session credits without refund or compensation. HolyLine will contest all unauthorized chargebacks and may provide evidence of your acceptance of these Terms to the relevant financial institution.

If you believe a technical error caused credits to be charged incorrectly, contact admin@holyline.org within 14 days of the transaction. We will investigate and, at our sole discretion, issue a credit correction if a verified technical error is confirmed. This is not a general refund policy.

6. Age Requirement

You must be 18 years of age or older to use HolyLine. By using HolyLine, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old. If HolyLine discovers or reasonably believes that a user is under 18, HolyLine reserves the right to immediately suspend or terminate the account and forfeit any remaining session credits without refund, notice, or liability.

7. Account Suspension and Termination

HolyLine reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any of the following reasons:

  • Violation of these Terms of Use.
  • Abusive, threatening, or harassing use of the service.
  • Initiation of a chargeback or payment dispute for an authorized purchase.
  • Suspected fraudulent activity.
  • Discovery or reasonable belief that you are under 18 years of age.
  • Any use of the service that HolyLine deems harmful, illegal, or contrary to the intended purpose of the platform.

Upon account termination for cause, all remaining session credits are forfeited without refund, compensation, or appeal. HolyLine is not liable for any loss resulting from account suspension or termination.

8. Assumption of Risk

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • HolyLine is an entertainment and personal reflection tool powered by artificial intelligence. It is not a substitute for pastoral care, therapy, counseling, medical treatment, or professional advice of any kind.
  • AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, theologically imprecise, or otherwise unsuitable for your personal circumstances. You assume full responsibility for how you interpret and act upon any content encountered in HolyLine sessions.
  • Spiritual, emotional, or personal decisions made in connection with or following the use of HolyLine are made entirely at your own risk. HolyLine bears no responsibility for any decision, action, harm, loss, or consequence arising from your use of or reliance on the service.
  • You are voluntarily choosing to engage with AI-generated content in a spiritual or reflective context, and you do so with full knowledge that it is not real pastoral ministry.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HolyLine, its owners, operators, directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, affiliates, successors, and assigns (collectively, “HolyLine Parties”) shall not be liable for any claim, loss, damage, or expense of any kind arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the service, including but not limited to: loss of data, income, revenue, profits, or business; emotional distress, spiritual harm, or psychological injury; harm arising from reliance on AI-generated content; unauthorized access to or alteration of your data; conduct of third parties in connection with the service; or any other indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages.

The HolyLine Parties' total cumulative liability to you for all claims of any kind arising from or related to your use of the service shall not exceed the lesser of: (a) the total amount you paid to HolyLine in the ninety (90) days immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100.00).

If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code Section 1542, which states: “A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release.”

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the HolyLine Parties from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or related to: (a) your use of the service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any applicable law or regulation; or (d) any content you submit or transmit through the service.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind. The HolyLine Parties expressly disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade. HolyLine does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or your use of HolyLine shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

13. Changes to Terms

HolyLine reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The version number and effective date at the top of this document identify the version in effect.
